Cookies and the record in this browser

This page explains what a cookie is, what this site stores, and how to refuse the optional visit note. It sits beside the privacy notice, which covers the enquiry form and the papers you bring to a sitting.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so a later visit can recognise a choice or a session. Similar storage exists inside the browser itself, called local storage. It does not travel to our office unless a script sends it. On this site the consent choice and the optional visit note live in local storage on your machine. They are listed below in the same table as cookies because they serve the same kind of memory.

How we use them

The site needs no cookie to show the sittings, the fees, the notes, or the contact form. The banner asks whether we may keep an optional visit note. Accept stores that you agreed, and stores the time of the choice as a visit note. Reject stores only that you refused, and removes any visit note already present. Either choice leaves every page usable. The banner links here so you can read this before you choose.

The record

Name Purpose Duration Provider
cortexharvest-cookie-consent Remembers whether you accepted or rejected the optional visit note. Essential for keeping the banner from returning on every page. Until you clear browser storage, or 12 months from the choice Cortex Harvest Financial Planning, stored in this browser
cortexharvest-visit-note Optional. Holds the time you accepted, so the practice can see that this browser allowed a visit note. Set only after Accept. Until you clear browser storage, reject later, or 6 months from the choice Cortex Harvest Financial Planning, stored in this browser

Essential and optional

The consent key is essential to honour the choice you made. The visit note is optional: a timestamp kept in your own browser. We run no third-party advertising cookies. Pages do not embed third-party video or social buttons that would set their own cookies.

Third-party cookies

Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google’s font servers to fetch those files, and Google may process that request under its own terms. We do not add Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or other third-party cookies. If a future page adds one, this table will be updated before it is used, and it will stay off unless you accept.

How to refuse or clear them

Choose Reject on the banner. The visit note is removed and the site continues. You can also clear site data for cortexharvest.click in your browser settings. In most browsers that control sits under privacy or site settings, where you can block storage, delete existing storage, or send a do-not-track preference. Blocking all storage means the banner cannot remember a choice and may appear again. It does not block the enquiry form, the telephone number, or the pages.

Effect of disabling

If you reject the visit note, or if you block storage entirely, the sittings, fee note, stories, field notes, and contact form remain available. We simply will not have a timestamp for that browser. A form you send is still an email-style message to the office, handled under the privacy notice, and it does not depend on the visit note.
